Caring for Bundaberg Since 1913
About Linden Clinic (Linden Medical Centre)
Bundaberg's Longest Serving Practice
Linden Clinic has been serving the Bundaberg community from the same historic building since 1913. We’re one of Queensland’s longest-operating general practices, and we’re still here because we’ve never lost sight of what matters most: patient-centred care.
While medicine has changed over the past century, our commitment hasn’t. We take the time to understand your health.

Why Families Choose Linden Clinic
We Don't Rush Your Care
Our standard appointments are 15 minutes, not the 6-10 minute norm at bulk billing clinics. That gives us time to listen, understand what's really going on, and explain things properly. If you need longer, just let us know when you book.
We Provide Continuity of Care
We book you with the same doctor whenever possible, so you see a GP who knows your history and understands your health over time. Our doctors visit aged care facilities across Bundaberg, maintaining that continuity when it matters most.
We're Here After Hours
Linden Clinic provides our own after-hours service for established patients when necessary. Call 0412 970 748 outside surgery hours to arrange an appointment. We don't bulk bill for after-hours, but you'll see a doctor who has access to your records and knows your situation.
We're Accredited
Linden Clinic is accredited by AGPAL (Australian General Practice Accreditation Ltd & Quality Practice Pty Ltd), meeting national standards for quality and safety in general practice.

Linden Medical Centre History
Over a century of caring for Bundaberg families.

A Practice is Born
Dr Egmont Schmidt built Linden on the corner of Barolin and Woongarra Streets. The beautiful Federation-style building became both his family home and his medical practice, with the Schmidt family living upstairs and Dr Schmidt consulting with patients downstairs.

A Family Legacy Continues
Dr Eric Schmidt, Egmont’s son, joined the practice. The clinic continued to grow and evolve while maintaining the patient-centred values Dr Egmont had established.

A Century of Service
Linden Clinic celebrated 100 years of continuous service to the Bundaberg community from the same historic building.

A New Chapter
Linden Clinic joined Bundaberg Health Promotions, which also operates Branyan Clinic and Currajong Medical Centre. The building remains a local landmark, its pressed metal ceilings and period features a reminder of Bundaberg’s history.

Generations of Trust
Many of our patients were born at Linden Clinic. Their children attend. Their grandchildren attend. That generational trust doesn’t happen by accident. It happens when you look after people properly, year after year, decade after decade.
